The Valley just announced a new deal with the MVC for increased coverage. There are articles on the LU site and the MVC site. I am thinking this does not happen with out Loyola being in the MVC. The chance to get the Chicago market between LU and alumni from ISU and SIU had to be a big part of this. I know we cant even fill the gym for games but I think it indicates that ESPN thinks that with increased coverage will come increased interest and viewership. I also think that this was part of the decision making process when we were the choice to replace Creighton. Maybe not the whole deal but certainly part of it.

I'm guessing this means that all home games for men's and women's basketball, plus women's volleyball (the first three sports to participate according to the announcement) will be on ESPN3 -- no more Ramblervision for those?

I would hope that not all MBB games would be on ESPN3 because I think there should still be games on traditional TV via a MVC package with FSN/CSN and a few games that LU buys on CSN.

The deal doesn't override any local/regional broadcasts

Ok, you got me. What I meant was that it seems as though ESPN3 is replacing Ramblervision for hoops and women's volleyball.

I was not trying to do that. I was only highlighting that I hoped games would be on other traditional media outlets as well. All ESPN3 would not be a good thing and after reading the press release it is clear that all games will not be on ESPN3, but all conference games will be televised in some fashion and all home non-con games. I was not trying to "get" anyone.
