Lordy ! I hope not !! Unless you are Princeton. Oxen Ball is a sure sign of a weak team--to me at least.

BTW , we are the only team in Chgo to win tonight.

Someone tell the Trib and Sun Times that !!! NW was superb tonight !! NOT !!!

Everyone scored except London and after the game I talked to his mom and she said he would rather have assists.

The up tempo was fun to watch. PM and his staff's hard work is paying off. At the ten minute mark, nine different players had a point. Nice to see Knuth get some minutes and Richardson continues to impress. Rajala showed some flashes of solid play.

I heard Creighton is coming into the Norville the first week of December on next year's schedule. Then we go to play DePaul in the first year of a one and one. DP needed a home game and Porter obliged but the Blue Demons will be at the Norville the following year.

The Alaska shoot out contract is finalized and in 15 we will play the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and then Friday and Saturday.
Some good things coming up for sure.

Hopefully the new AD will get the Bonnies on our schedule.

Oh and a special thanks to JCT for his pregame overviews. Makes the whole game day experience more enjoyable.
It takes a lot of hard work on his part and it is much appreciated.

Loyola's SID just texted me Doyle is day to day as of now. They'll know more tomorrow.
Sounds to me like maybe he could miss Friday's game, but probably no more.

No doubt this is an inferior team, but it's not because of ineptitude. They're actually fundamentally sound, with players that don't make stupid mistakes for the most part. Jackson State was more talented, but far less capable. This team beat Sacramento State at home by double digits and trailed Houston by only two points in the final five minutes. We held them to their lowest point output on the year with primarily bench players. A great job, IMO.

We beat a decent --not good--but a decent team. Who on tis board predicted a blow-out ?? Not one of us--or at least one of that magnitude--AND we did it with our best on the bench for more than half the game. That in itself tells me that we are better than we think we are--not great yet, but getting there.
We are, if nothing else , removing the stench of last year.
While we truly do not need Milton to be hurt, it surely shows that the rest knew what to do--and then some-- THAT is the sign of a good team----

Too bad the "media" was not able to mention it AGAIN !!

I thought we were in for a fight the way the game started, but AC seemed to run out of gas midway through the first half and definitely in the second. Their guards were tiny, but fun to watch.

Nice to see Turk shoot well (4 for 5 on 3s); he had been in a shooting slump. Earl Peterson continued to impress, scoring on a couple nice drives to the basket. The freshman played well for the most part, although Ingram looked a little shaky with his ball handling. Knuth got a lot of minutes and shot well. Interested to see how he will do against better competition. Richardson has real nice form on his jump shot with a high release. Rajala made a couple nice passes and looked more comfortable out there.

The only downside, of course, was Doyle's injury late in the first half. It was an ankle and not a knee, thank God, so I don't figure he'll be out long.

All in all a fun game, and I find that I enjoy blowouts, because they're less nerve-wracking and give me an opportunity to focus on individual players more.

He still looks confused as hell when he gets into the game, but he does some nice things once the action starts.

This games shows what can happen if we rebound.

I know the competition wasn't great, but I think this is a good example of what can happen when you TRUST your players and let them learn on the job.

How else does Porter expect to develop players? Can't give them a short hook.
