Held the #4 team in the country to 9 points below their previous low. Forced the starters to play until the very end. Beat the spread by 9 points. And that was all after spending the first 25 minutes of the game with nerves and tentativeness.

Much better than I expected, and much better than 99% of Shockers fans expected, I bet. If we're not going to get a victory, I'll take a moral victory any day. This was really something to build on.

I didn't watch the game.

A couple questions:

Was our defense that good, or did the Shox just have an off night?

I know our shots weren't falling, but were we getting good looks?

How did we do under the basket on offense and defense?

Any other observations appreciated.

Both.

Yes but we also shot terribly from 3

Not good.

(1) Little of both

(2) Yes, a lot of good looks in the first half that we just bricked

(3) A lot of looks underneath on offense, especially early, we just didn't make the shots. Defense, not so good for the most part.

(4) It's cold outside

Like Swella, could only get the radio broadcast. It seemed that Crisman and Turk were switching offense/defense in the final few minutes. Did that make any difference?

Moral victory. Home game in a few weeks just got a lot more fun. Shocks aside, I honestly don't think there's an MVC team we can't--maybe even shoudn't--beat on a given night.

We covered. Took some money from the good people of Kansas tonight.

Oh shucks...

Yes.

Early had 23, but no other Shocker had more than 7. They outrebounded us by a lot, but not so much in the second half. We missed half of our free throws. We only shot 19% on threes. We missed a bunch of close in shots we should have made, but altered or flubbed because of intimidation/nerves.

So we outscored them by 6 points in the second half, despite their starters playing some of the highest minute totals of the year. I imagine we'll be mentioned in a fairly admiring light on SportsCenter.

I didn't think the Shox looked all that great (at least tonight.)
They're in for a fall. I look forward to their being defeated handily, and the arrogant smirk being wiped off their coach's face, preferably by a "small" dark horse team. I love to watch the "mighty" fall, fall, fall...

As I said, we are a good team and we shall get better !! Proud of these guys and Porter--He kept the guys focused through a bad first half.

This could be the start of a retreat by the team I call the best--Shockers had best be careful--They may be Had !!

GO FROM HERE RAMBLERS !!
