I don't think the reason is weird. Down 22 - 0, they hit like 8 of their next 10 shots and eventually got to within 13 points with plenty of time left. The short bench - Caleb Reese played 23 minutes for gods sake - meant everyone was gassed by then. This team is certainly a disappointment, but I love the collective effort. If it was less than heroic in the last 7 minutes of the game, it's only because so much had been used up by that point. You as a fan watch a game that starts that way, and the natural response is to give up. You forget about all the work the team has put in day after day while you weren't even thinking about basketball and assume they've given up too. Sure, some teams give up but many don't. This team didn't and I was proud of them.
