And they did so much better than any of the guys are doing now. Knight and Ryan Schweiger didn't have a sit out year under Porter, unless I'm mistaken. They came in and contributed right away. |

Knight and Schweiger also had a year of no basketball to study and learn our system. As Drew has said many times and Krut/Alcock have confirmed time and time again on their podcast, our defensive scheme is very complicated and takes a while to learn. We’ve been spoiled by having such an experienced core for so long whom made the defense look so effortless. All 5 guys need to be on the same page for the defense to work and we have so many new pieces that it just has not happened yet. Golden seems to be getting better, but still struggling, and Alston clearly is still trying to figure it all out. The turnovers have magnified the defensive problems because obviously turnovers make them have to defend more. |

Well, I am a little bit tired about hearing about the how difficult the defensive system is. I am seeing the Culture Wall Principles not being following. We don't reach for lights, we foul too much. Lack of discipline period. Turnovers aren't related to our defense. At this point, our coaching has to be better and the players need to get with the program and system or they too need to be accountable and even move on. |
