--1--We were beaten by a slightly better and a lot taller team--Out boarded us badly
--2--This league is truly NOT a finesse league--so more bigs will help
---------See our injuries
--3-- We should get and invite to some post season affair--If it is the 'Pay for " tourney, there should be not one minute of hesitation on Admins part--Cost of doing winning business. (recruits look at this, I would guess)
-------3a This would be the further proof of commitment that Fr G has been talking about
--4--We should really now be in the top three or four of the Valley next year--Shockers, Panthers Ramblers little red birdies in that order--
-------4a The EARLY SUMMER LINE--Panthers--2 to1
--Shockers--5 to 2
--Ramblers--7 to 2
--Red Birds--4 to 1
--Aces--------7 to 1
--Sycamores-10 to 1
--Salukis-----14 to1
--Bears-------20 to 1
--Bulldogs----30 to 1
--Braves------35 to 1
Most improved horses look to be Ramblers and Birds !! Both will be ready and should train and prep nicely over the Summer

I think northern Iowa might take a step back next year. After seeing several of their games, I have a feeling those guys are going to have a new coach next year...

Could be.

For anyone still questioning whether the conference move is worth it. We would never play in front of the crowds in the current Horizon that we do in St Lous. I'm not sure there's a mid major conference anywhere that puts on the display and crowds the MVC does. I didn't just see people wearing the colors of the teams playing today, I also saw SIU, Bradley, Evansville, Drake, and Indiana State represented in the crowd. It truly is an experience, and as I told the UNI fan next to me, I couldn't be happier we made the move.

Attendance for the championship game was 13,552. No Creighton at all, no Wichita State in the finals, and still 13,552.

This is a great tournament, and I can't encourage you enough to go if it's at all possible next year.

We got back last night. Weather was perfect for a drive, and clearly a lot of Illinois State fans took advantage of that. We saw at least a dozen cars with ISU license plates or stickers heading north after the game.

It's disappointing for the team that they didn't play their best in their last game down there. Everybody wants to play in the NCAAs, but this team and our fans have a hell of a lot to be proud of. JCT laid it out in another thread.

Best of all, I think we will get to see them play again. If we do get a home game, I hope it's next Monday like NJIT's home game so I can be there. Either way, they should have a chance to make it a second tournament win on the season!

(Side note: how do you post a picture? I get upload errors and if I try to link to another site it says "can't determine the size of the image.")

The pic above was posted as an attachment. For web pictures it has to be less than 500 pixels high and 800 pixels wide.

I find the easiest way to do it is to upload to Imgur. If you get the error message about sizing, you can adjust the pixel dimensions easily in the Imgur interface.

Thanks for the assist. Imgur.com is helpful because it gives you those shortcodes for board posting.

Just before tipoff Saturday afternoon. Great atmosphere!
